Summer School Work

A plethora of summer school projects that have added much needed utility and features to our local schools. Let’s look at these projects and see how we were able to make a difference.

Below: It is always great to pull in some extra projects at schools during the 6 weeks holidays. We were asked by a school in Derby if we could make some room alterations and upgrades in readiness for the coming school year, as they were needed desperately! We were able to do a site survey and follow up with a quote with a few days, and were able to squeeze the job into the week before the summer holidays when the school was closed to pupils. A hot desking space and kitchenette were created and installed and ready to use for the coming year. The third job we managed to fit in for this was to separate an office into two for the purpose of exam paper administration, and it was imperative this was also in place for September. We were pleased top be able to measure up, quote and complete the work all before the 6 weeks holiday started! The partition wall was double boarded and insulated, two windows were filled in and a doorway reinstated.

Below: A new room specifically for SEN (Special Educational Needs), all completed within a week at the start of the summer holidays. Two new walls were created, complete with insulation, frame and door with thumb turn lock which we installed after these photos were taken. This classroom is now in use by teachers and pupils who are enjoying the additional secure classroom!

Below: This primary school hall floor had certainly seen better days and had 50-60 years of heavy use under its belt! We were able to renovate this wooden parquet floor by machine sanding the original wood back, cleaning it and treating it with a primer and sealant. The floor was lacquered and buffed to a lovely finish and we think it has made a massive difference. Contact Box09 for all school renovations and improvement projects, we love a challenge!
